Our shop, tea bar and services

The League of Friends has a very busy office where all the 'behind the scenes' work is done, including accounting, membership database administration, secretarial work etc.

We provide guides to escort patients and visitors to their appointments or to give directions if they can get there on their own.

We also have the following retail outlets at St Helier hospital for which we are always looking for extra volunteers. Both are located on the Ground Floor of Ferguson House, opposite the Springall Unit:

The hospital shop at St Helier is currently open Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm. We sell a large variety of goods, including, toiletries, soft toys, sandwiches, chilled food, drinks, and sweets.  We also endeavour to hold a selection of gluten-free, vegetarian, dairy-free and halal products. 

The tea bar at St Helier Hospital is a very busy outlet which caters for staff, patients, and visitors alike. Also, currently open Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm. We sell hot and cold drinks, freshly made to order sandwiches and rolls, as well as cakes and crisps. All our bread, rolls and fresh cakes are delivered daily.

The tea bar is air-conditioned to be nice and cool in the summertime. Although it is a busy unit, it still maintains a friendly and peaceful atmosphere if you wish to sit down to eat or drink. Please note that occasionally it may be necessary to close early if volunteers are sick or on holiday.
