How to make a complaint

Yellow balls with unhappy faces painted on them The NHS constitution acknowledges the right for all patients to make complaints about any aspect of their care, treatment or services. Your feedback is important for improving services. Concerns should be discussed with your provider as early on in your treatment as possible, but we know that the process can be complicated and confusing. Try to make sure your complaint is made within 12 months of the incident so it can be dealt with as effectively as possible. If you feel you have been mistreated or let down by any health service the resources below can support you in making a complaint. If you want personal assistance in making your complaint, you can access help through the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS).
