NHS e-Referral (e-RS) information
What is the NHS e-Referral Service?
The NHS e-Referral Service (previously known as Choose and Book) is a national electronic referral service that the whole NHS is adopting. It allows you to choose the place, time and date for your first outpatient appointment. You can find out more about the national service at www.nhs.uk/referrals (opens in a new window).
Since 1 October 2018 GP referrals to all of our consultant-led services are to be made through e-RS (for exclusions to this please the Exclusion list below).
A full list of the services available via e-RS is provided below in our e-RS Directory of Service list for GPs.
