Clinical Librarian Service
The Clinical Librarian Service brings the library to health professionals, at the point of need or patient care. This involves embedding the service within a clinical team and can include a range of outreach activities for example: attending departmental, team or clinical meetings. This enables us to build relationships with you, better understand your information needs and help find the best evidence to support patient care.
Training
Bite-size training to support evidence based healthcare is provided by the Clinical Librarian on topics such as: Evidence Searching and Critical Appraisal.
‘The Clinical Librarian Service has enhanced integrated working and strengthens the evidence base of the infant feeding practices and initiatives to support our UNICEF UK Baby Friendly standards gold accreditation.’
Sue Taylor, ESTH Infant Feeding Lead.
Grand Round Presentations
Evidence summaries can be provided to support Grand Round presentations.
Presentations that are shared with us, are catalogued and available internally, to facilitate the sharing of expertise across the Trust.
Evidence Summaries
The Clinical Librarian produces evidence summaries by synthesising and summarising literature search results. These are used to inform decision making and identify examples of good practice to support improvements in patient care. Some evidence summaries have been used to inform developments in service delivery, funding bids and training development.
