Nurse or Midwife of the Year

Nurse or Midwife of the Year is someone who always gives quality care to their patients, and is kind and caring. They work hard, with a positive attitude, and are an asset to their team. This person inspires confidence and trust in people and works well under pressure, being organised and practical, with fantastic communication skills.

Healthcare Assistant of the Year

(Including bands 2, 3 and 4). This person is a Healthcare Assistant, Maternity Assistant or Assistant Practitioner who goes above and beyond their expected role, puts their patients first, and is a team player. They show true commitment, dedication and care in supporting our nursing and midwifery teams to deliver the best possible care.

Nursing or Midwifery Team of the Year

This award is for the team that has demonstrated the ability to provide outstanding care, consistently working closely together to deliver the standards we would expect for our own loved ones. This is the team you would love to be part of and who excel in everything they tackle.

Mentor of the Year

This person can be any member of the nursing and midwifery workforce - they do not have to be a formal mentor, but someone who constantly nurtures and empowers others around them to be better nurses or midwives. They push and pull us to deliver our best.

This year, we have also decided to include a number of awards which focus on promoting our values, as it is important that we are rewarding those who are doing attempting to make positive changes in our organisation, these awards are: Valuing and promoting diversity, Living our Values and the Going above and beyond award.

We also want to award those who have made a concerted effort to either learn new skills and progress and develop in their role, and those who have helped others to do this. This is why we have created our Rising star, Student of the year and Most supportive nurse/midwife/HCA categories.
