Dr Chris Elliot, Associate Non-Executive Director

Dr Christopher Elliott joins the Board of Epsom and St Helier hospitals

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Christopher Elliott as Associate Non-Executive Director.

Christopher qualified in 1977 and worked at Charing Cross and St Helier hospitals until starting GP training in 1982 in the Lower Morden area. Chris joined Benhill and Belmont surgery in 1983 and in 1987 became a GP trainer. In 2000 he was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of GPs.

With a passion for bringing health services together to improve care for patients, Chris has worked with local healthcare providers and commissioners to support the development of integrated care particularly in maternity services and older people's mental health.

Chris said: "I am delighted to be joining the Board of Epsom and St Helier at such an interesting time.  The Trust has forged some exciting partnerships focused on delivering the best care possible locally, often in a patient's own home, preventing unnecessary admissions to hospital. I am looking forward to helping to support and champion this way of working as the partnerships including the Integrated Dorking, Epsom and East Elmbridge Alliance (IDEEA), Sutton Health and Care and Epsom Health and Care, develop."

Laurence Newman, Chairman, said: "We are delighted that Chris is joining our Board. He brings with him a wealth of experience which will prove invaluable as we continue to work in partnership with colleagues across the local health economy to improve the care we deliver to local people, especially those with long term conditions."
